Introduction

Spring Lodge is a small guest house providing bed and breakfast accommodation, located in Spring Mount, a quiet cul-de-sac off Springfield Avenue, which in turn is off the main A61 Ripon Road into Harrogate from the north.

We are 5 minutes walk to the International Conference and Exhibition Centre down a fairly steep hill and about 8 minutes walk from Harrogate town centre-again up a fairly steep hill. Here you will find local amenities, attractions, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

Harrogate's bus and train stations are about 15 minutes walk. To drive to the town centre takes about 3 minutes. There are 2 pay and display car parks at Union Street and Victoria Shopping Centre and also pay and display on street parking in the town centre.

There are 2 well known local taxi firms who also offer accessible taxis-we would be happy to arrange and prebook these for guests if required.

Pre Arrival

We request that guests inform us of any special needs or requirements that they have when making an enquiry or a booking.

Please advise us of your anticipated time of arrival so that we can be available to welcome you and give assistance where necessary with your luggage. To ensure that your room is ready we recommend that guests check in after 2pm, however we are usually able to give you your keys and store your luggage if you arrive before the room is ready. We can accept check in up to 11pm as long as you inform us if your arrival will be later than 6pm.

Arrival and car parking

Car parking is on street in Spring Mount-it is residents' permit and disc parking for which we provide permits and discs free of charge. On arrival please ring the door bell on the left hand side of the outer door to gain access and collect your permit or disc. There is a dropped kerb near to the entrance of the guest house. We can provide assistance with your luggage.

The entrance to the guest house is through the main front door which is the main evacuation route. There are 2 steps to the front door measuring 10cm (4") high and 12cm (4 1/2")  high respectively.

Public areas

The dining room is on the ground floor through the fire door on the right as you enter the guest house. It has uniform lighting and fitted carpet. There are 4 moveable tables and chairs-seating maximum10 people.

Our menus are available in large print format on request.

We offer table service for breakfast as standard.

We are able to cater for special dietary requirements if we are informed of these when guests book, however we cannot guarantee that products we use do not contain nuts.

Bedrooms

Our bedrooms are arranged as follows:-

On the first floor, which is accessed by 15 steps on the main staircase-each step is 18cm (7")high and 24cm (9 ½") deep:

1 double ensuite

On the first floor up another 2 similar steps and through the fire door on the left:

1 twin ensuite

1 double with ensuite shower-shared WC along the landing

1standard single with wash basin-shared bathroom along the landing

On the second floor up another 15 similar steps:

1 double ensuite

The flight of stairs to the first floor has a fixed handrail. The double room on the first floor is located at the top of these stairs through the fire door, so could be suitable for guests who can manage a short flight of steps using the handrail. It also has its own ensuite bathroom with WC, wash basin and bath with shower over.

All the rooms have:-

An iron and ironing board and portable electric heaters are available on request.

Additional information

All areas in the guest house are totally non-smoking

We have an automatic fire detection and alarm system with fire alarm points and sounders on each floor. We provide signs for guests to hang on their bedroom doors if they would need assistance in the event of an alarm or evacuation.

Should guests need attention during their stay there is an internal bell on the wall to the right of the window at the bottom of the main staircase.

We are happy to refrigerate medication.
